4th grade students will be learning how to play the recorder with this wonderful curriculum from Music K-8. In "Recorder Karate," students earn recorder "belts" by learning songs, performing in concerts, and showing great attitude and musicianship.

Every 4th grade student is required to participate in "Recorder Karate" as it is a  main part of the 4th grade music curriculum. Students can provide their own recorder, or purchase one through the school. Recorders are $3.00 each and come in a variety of colors. 



Although only one recorder is necessary for the year, I encourage students to have two, one at school and one at home. I do allow students to take recorders home over the weekend to practice, but insist they have them at school during the week to ensure they will be available for class. 



I do not send paper copies of the music home for students, but copies of the music are available on the Music K-8 website at
