A common question asked is "What do expect from your students in music class?

I have 5 basic music rules for the classroom. These rules are posted in the front of the class.​​



The Music Room Rules Are:

 

     1.  Enter and Leave the Music Room quickly, and quietly.

     2.  Raise your hand to speak. If someone is speaking, show respect by looking at them and staying silent.
     3.  Respect others and the instruments. Use only positive language and keep hands to self.
     4.  Follow directions the FIRST time they are given.
     5.  Participate in ALL class activities to the best of your ability and with a good attitude.

When students break one of the classroom rules,

they serve a consequence according to my consequence chart. The first time a student breaks a rule, the consequence is a verbal warning and redirection. For every subsequent offense that period, I move down the chart to the next consequence.
